The tradeoff with any open design is that little stones and grit can more easily work their way under your feet, whereas closed shoes made of mesh tend to limit that. Crafted with an adjustable, quick-drying web upper, the sandals feature a rubber toe for protection and EVA midsole to cushion every step. The sandals feature straps made of a durable and washable material, so you can even wear the shoes in the water. KEEN products are deliberately manufactured using PFC-free water deflectors (in applicable styles) and leather from Leather Working Group (LWG) certified tanneries. They run true to size; I wear a men’s 11 1/2 or 12 in street shoes; the size 12 is a good fit for me.

A significant improvement is the size and shape of the toe bumper and the way the strap runs through it; it used to be a source of friction, but Keen reduced the size of the toe bumper.
