About this deal

Co-star David Hemmings was a longtime friend of Reed's (they appeared together in the 1964 film The System), and in 2020 Scott stated, "David Hemmings (Cassius) promised to look after him and said to me [upon his death], I'm really sorry, old boy".

Reed often described himself as a British patriot and preferred to live in the United Kingdom over relocating to Hollywood. According to Robert Sellers, Reed tried reenlisting, at age 44, in the British army following the outbreak of the conflict but was turned down. As you mentioned, he had relatives who were involved in the dramatic arts including his uncle Carol Reed who was one of Britain’s most prominent filmmakers and directed Reed in OLIVER!Anyway, series 5 begins with Philip Levene’s From Venus with Love, a script which was rejected for the previous year because it was ‘too bizarre’ (what, and Man-Eater of Surrey Green wasn’t? As a result of his death, Reed's remaining scenes in Gladiator had to be completed using a body double and computer-generated imagery (CGI) techniques. Hal Raglan in David Cronenberg's 1979 film The Brood and ended the decade with A Touch of the Sun (1979), a comedy with Peter Cushing. As a glamorous ’60s matinee idol and scary Hammer Horror star, Reed provides both in CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF.

Someone is clearly staging a season reviving some of Shakespeare’s most spectacular murders, with the members of the Critics’ Circle in the central role each time. Reed died from a heart attack during a break from filming Gladiator in Valletta, Malta, on the afternoon of 2 May 1999. In his final years, when he lived in Ireland, Reed was a regular in the one-roomed O'Brien's Bar in Churchtown, County Cork, close to the 13th-century cemetery in the heart of the village where he would be buried.Since I wrote the above the news has broken of the passing of Dame Diana Rigg, giving these current pieces a resonance I could frankly have happily lived without.

Wright is one of those directors who can be rather tricky to read: he bounces around across all kinds of genres, usually managing to make each his own in a rather quirky way – so far his CV includes a zombie rom com, a buddy action movie set in rural England, an offbeat comic book adaptation, an alien invasion movie, a diegetic musical car chase thriller, and a documentary about one of the world’s weirdest bands. I’m pretty sure this is a horror movie – it’s genuinely unsettling for long periods, deals with proper horror material, and Wright deploys a few classic horror gags along the way – but it is also a very modern piece dealing with the topics of mental health and misogynistic violence. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.Uncredited television appearances included episodes of The Invisible Man (1958), The Four Just Men (1959) and The Third Man. So, then, other than a potential continuity headache regarding the Silurians, what has The Crimson Horror brought into our lives? I will never retire and hope to program my computers to keep making movies in my name even after I am gone.
