Yes, this story is gut wrenching and at times devastating, but it’s also inspiring, thought provoking and heart-warming. It's like they're all in this story together, if the story were a car, the game is to cram as many people as possible into the story-car, but no one is driving the story-car anywhere. The girl bounces from encountering one "interesting" person to another to another to another til I think the count is close to 15(!

I spent on this one and the hours of my life that I spent reading it are gone and now I need to find something really good to "wash" this one out of my brain.We are elegant creatures capable of depth and empathy and heartbreak, who clutch Kindles and hurt and feel – especially at 3 AM. Kim Holden, all I can say is you are EPIC, this book is something that you should be truly proud of. From a certain scene which brought tears to my eyes, it was like the freaking floodgates opened and I COULDN’T STOP CRYING.

Kate was a fantastic protagonist, and although there are plenty of chapters from Keller’s perspective, I enjoyed hers the most. She's so brave, so strong, so drop-dead gorgeous, so caring, so loving, so talented, so smart, so positive, so kind, and so on. There was so much to Keller and as his and Kate’s secrets came to light, the true testament of this man and his character came to be. This book is definitely an ugly crier, but the beautiful thing is, it was also very light and funny. One more point on the cover though, once you have read the book you will appreciate it’s symbolism, I can see why the author did it and I can appreciate it whole heartedly.

I wouldn’t have missed a second of it because when a book evokes that much emotion from you, you know you’re onto a winner. Kate Sedgwick has faced many adversities in her young life thus far; having a mother who was not so motherly and in addition a sister Grace, to care for all on her own. Describes a book or dust jacket that does show some signs of wear on either the binding, dust jacket or pages. I was recommended this book by several people because I was asking for books that were tear-jerkers. The writing was very mediocre, the relationships between the characters felt very unnatural (this is a huge factor that attributed to the disconnection), and I rolled my eyes way too many times.
