About this deal

That being said, I will DEFINITELY purchase the next two volumes when they become available as I think the rest of the story needs to be told. Roger and Carolyn Perron purchased the home of their dreams and eventual nightmares in December of 1970. Thus began an incredible odyssey; a supernatural excursion through dimensions of time and space as the history of its characters from the ages began to reveal themselves to seven mortals who could not conceive of and never anticipated such events transpiring in our lives.

The events in the book were fairly creepy, however, this book was so weirdly written that it turned me off to reading it. Very well written by Andrea and I really enjoyed the follow up from different family members years after the events. Two months after the Perron family abandoned this place in the country, John, all of nineteen years old, drove from Rhode Island to Georgia.

During those final desperate moments of her life, was she frightened by her own intentions or steadfast in her resolve? The author mentioned in an interview that she was looking for a publisher who wasn't going to edit it. This memoir waited thirty years to be told, allowing the time and distance necessary for her family to reveal these long held secrets. Also mentions people we have never been introduced to, or were introduced to so long ago we have forgotten, such as Billy. Consider this a proper introduction to but a few of the many who still dwell among the living in a house revealing as many secrets.

Other examples of real danger where when the girls were mysteriously trapped- behind the chimney, two girls were at risk of suffocation, one in an old box that wouldn't open although it wasn't fastened, and the other in a trunk she doesn't remember getting into, and was nearly impossible to open in the first place. I enjoyed the overall story (not sure how much I believe), but it is sooooooo wordy and quite badly written in some cases.

So going into this review I am giving Andrea and her family the benefit of the doubt that all their experiences are true and honest. This was a really well written book and a great story on top of that, I admit some things did frighten me to the core but that's what made the book so great !You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Wonder if the doll that I saw in the trailer is in 2nd book or 3rd, cause she wasn't in the first book. Given the vast majority of the "incidents" described, most are fairly normal for an old house: doors opening and closing themselves, objects appearing and disappearing, moving around, things levitating, clocks stopping, phone ringing when unplugged, pets not wanting to go in, or seeming to react to something unseen by their owners, smells and cold that come and go, hearing footsteps, sensing and seeing presences.
