About this deal

Pretty decent quality writing for the most part, some stories are unfortunately underwhelming, but there's three stories are worth mentioning. Out of the 8 stories I liked the ones that stood out the best and that made this anthology worthwhile were: Honor Among Fiends, Fires of War, Labyrinth, Headhunted, And They Shall Know No Fear, and, One Hate(details on each in my updates). I believe the 8 I mentioned are good enough for even non-40k fans to read; pulpy, war-torn sci-fi reading!

It starts off as your average spess mahreen fluff but as the situation grows dire the space marines slowly crack under pressure and do some heinous things. Heroes of the Space Marines is an anthology of stories about these brave champions and their dark counterparts, the Chaos Space Marines. This tale - don't know what it has to do with Heroes of Space Marines since it focus solely on chaos space marines and how they get more warriors under their belt. Ohne Frage konnte man einige renommierte Autoren wie Gav Thorpe für HEROES OF THE SPACE MARINES gewinnen, und die Geschichten sind alle soweit in Ordnung. This is very straightforward tale on crimson fists helping imperial guard while on their own mission.

My favourite of the stories was the one centred around the betrayal of the Avenging Sons third company. he most heroic battle-brothers in a Space Marine company often form an elite retinue, sworn to fight alongside their Captain. Die Geschichten sind von unterschiedlicher Länge und Qualität aber ein Kauf lohnt sich definitv für alle die Marines mögen - ob nun die "guten" oder die "bösen".

This anthology features an Ultramarines series tie-in by Graham McNeill featuring the Iron Warrior Honsou, a prequel story to the forthcoming Salamander series by Nick Kyme, a tie–in to the new Imperial Fists series by Chris Roberson and all–new Deathwatch and Night Lords stories, setting the stars ablaze with the fury of the Space Marines. Darren Cox's And They Shall Know No Fear was a fine piece of battle writing, dripping with heroism and sacrifice. If you read the Ultramarines omnibus then this book contains one story which is more ore less the introduction to possible sequel (The Skull Harvest). This story tells of an encounter by the Salamanders Space Marine Chapter battling Chaos forces and the Dragon Warriors Chaos Space Marines. The story is very well written and is both entertaining and funny in places with some nice action scenes and a good plot. Amidst heavy casualties and combat unceasing, a number of Space Marines of the Avenging Sons chapter — currently on "penitence patrol" due to previous dishonourable actions - grow disillusioned with their role in the quelling of a global uprising and decide upon a most rebellious course.

Ten stories, with 5 of them being focused on Chaos Space Marines hardly makes for a "heroes" collection, but aside from that, the book was good. Outside of that story, none of the others really stuck out in my mind and that story is really the reason for my rating. by Darren Cox follows a squad of Black Templar Sword Brethren as they try to gain access to a Chaos held fortress. You can arm the Captain with a master-crafted bolter, plasma pistol, or neo-volkite pistol in one hand, and a power fist or power sword in the other.Young men take part in a Chaotic ritual that they don't truly understand, but one thing is for certain: the only victors will be the traitorous Night Lords.
