It's brilliant how the smallest detail can lead to a whole story later on, how author's can think so far ahead and slip in seeds for a later book. Eugene: A muscular young man Prue invited to dinner for, only to be turned away at the door by Phoebe. There was a lot more sexual content in this book than in Frost's others - or more than I remember there being. I am giving it three stars, as I didn't hate it and found it reasonably entertaining, but I won't be rushing to continue the series.
So good, in fact, that he didn't know just what the hell he was doing in a hospital, but so far, they hadn't shown any sign of letting him go.

George is your partner on this investigation, and as a fellow cop, he’s someone you feel like you can really trust. Also the book felt like not the first book like she just expected u to know what all the high fantasy words meant and there was all this backstory u were probs meant to kno but didnt make sense so just was rly awkies.
but despite all of that i pushed through and finished the book bc the plot was intriguing to me like i’ll give the author that and i did really enjoy the romance between the main couple they had good tension and were true to the enemies to lovers trope but the author claims for this to be fated mates but never really mentions them being mates it’s implied but i kinda wanted a more direct approach to that plot point. Frederick wanted her to be the perfect subordinate, not questioning his decisions as he used her for his dubious spellcasting. But with danger closing in, Mencheres must choose either the woman he craves, or embracing the darkest magic to defeat an enemy bent on his eternal destruction.
I feel like this book was thrown into my "lap" (aka kindle lap) by the universe or something bigger picture because I have been craving a paranormal romance with demons! This is book 1 in White's new series Curse of the Guardians and I have to start by saying this one was a little more difficult for me than most listens.I enjoyed this story and would like to see where it goes next, but I would definitely want to read the original series first. But Peter, along with his partner Harry are on the side of justice and are here to prevent this mad man from creating havoc in our world.
